The Role
Against this background, Arcadis is strengthening its Risk Management function and is looking for a Regional Risk Manager (“RMM”) to ensure the implementation and operating effectiveness of the Arcadis Enterprise Risk Management framework, of which the Arcadis Business Controls are a key component in the region.

This role will report to the Regional CFO and will be a member of the Arcadis Middle East Finance team with a functional reporting line to the Global Chief Risk Officer.

Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining the risk governance framework for the region
- Support to regional leadership and management with implementation of and compliance with the Arcadis Business Controls
- Working with the business risk owners to help ensure that risk responses are appropriate and effectively carried out
- Analysing trends in regional business risks, whether market or regulatory driven and advising on risk management strategy to regional management
- Planning and executing “management testing” to evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of risk management practices in the region
- Reporting on the findings of “management testing” to regional and country management and supporting with making the overall management assessment for the region’s “In Control Statement” and “Document of Representation”, in line with Dutch corporate laws
- In conjunction with management, pro-actively managing issues which have resulted from “management testing” or from other sources such as audits, whether internal or external
- Working with the regional CFO, playing a leading role in developing and maintaining a Risk Register for the region and reporting to the leadership team on the risk register periodically. This includes developing risk mitigation strategies for identified risks
- Supporting the Internal Audit function from time to time with internal audits for other Arcadis operating companies across the globe

Requirements
The candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree with top grades (Business, Finance, Economics, Legal or other) and knowledge, skills and abilities based on 10+ years’ experience.

Further requirements:
- Strategic thinker with high degree of analytical talent and business process understanding
- Strong involvement in project management
- Experience in a professional services firm will be an advantage
- Experience with corporate governance and/or risk management activities
- Ability to operate effectively in a matrix organization
- Strong technical background and/or management background in risk management/internal controls
- Systems background and experience with risk modeling, quantification and scenario analysis is a plus
- Strong presentation skills with experience interacting with senior management and a leadership team
- Pro-active, independent, collaborative and solution oriented
- Ability to simplify complex analysis that delivers comprehensive understanding
- Working effectively under pressure
- Must be able to work effectively in a virtual way and has to be willing to travel
