Job Description :

For a worldwide operating agricultural commodities trading company, we are urgently looking out for an experienced Chartering Operations Officer to support the Chartering Manager at their head office in Dubai, UAE

The role is assistant to the Chartering Manager but will have its own portfolio. The right candidate has knowledge and experience of the Black Sea region specific and global movements as well.

Main responsibilities:
• Appointing port agents, negotiating port disbursements, liaising with relevant cargo execution individual to finalize the operation in agreement.
• Liaise with ship agents for vessel details, schedules and updates of vessel allocation.
• Coordinate with Ship Owners to schedule and operate shipments.
• Liaise with traders, charterers/ship owners on basis of sale and purchase contracts and charter parties.
• Assist in planning, calculation and budget analysis to achieve profit targets.
• Nomination and acceptance of vessels, as per charter party terms and sales contract terms.
• Preparing and keeping updated daily chartered fleet position list.
• Provide regular information and to assist with the compilation of reports.
Skills

- Preferably diploma in Maritime
- Minimum three years’ experience in post-fixture and chartering operations in dry bulk industry
- Languages: excellent knowledge of English, Russian would be preferred (not a must)
- Knowledge: Good commercial knowledge of shipping and cargo documentation process and Bill of Lading in order to liaise with cargo execution team; interpret written requirements and technical specification documents
- Personal skills: commitment to quality, ability to work in multicultural team, multi-task and ability to work in high paced environment, excellent communication and planning & organizing skills
