JOB TITLE: Assistant Procurement Manager -Logistics

JOB LOCATION: Unilever Gulf FZE

DEPARTMENT: Supply Chain

Minimum Requirements

Graduate (Engineering, Natural Sciences) or BBA/MBA with a min of 2/3 years Procurement experience

AND/OR

Relevant Degree/Experience (Supply Chain/Logistics/Procurement)

Purpose of the Role (Cluster procurement NAME)
Cover the commercial part of the contracting which is one of the main activities of Logistics Procurement role in delivering Logistics strategy.
Enhance the current running business Logistics activities through finding innovative ideas for big savings projects to raise the savings bar and to minimize the logistics cost portion from the turn over.
Directly responsible for:
Enhancing the payment process
Usage of the procurement systems ,
Establishing a data base.
Creating project networks
Working closely with the Logistics Excellence, Finance and Operations team on enhancing the reporting process and support the logistics teams in their strategy.
Find the synergies opportunities with other companies to balance spent and leverage the volume and to take the maximum benefit from the supplier including inbound transpiration.
Drive the key Logiatics Procurment Transformation initiatives and report to the Global team on the progress.
Report the KPIs, Savings and project progress on a monthly basis on Unilever approved IT systems and scorecards.
Key Responsibilities (Cluster Procurement NAME)

1. Understand the business requirements , in all the Logistics aspects ; Warehousing , transportation , distribution and Material Handling equipment and agree with the business team on the potential projects , set its prioritization and agree on the Logistics strategy which will be used in the relevant countries.

2. Scan the market for the Logistics Service Providers and trends , provide a list of the potential suppliers , having a meeting with them , understand their capabilities and do a supplier segmentation analysis to have a purified data base.

3. Understand Tendering Process (from A to Z) and execute of Request for Proposal.

4. Understand the cost drivers and build a clear cost structure for each Logistics activity to work on controlling and monitoring the cost drivers.

5. Plan ahead for renewing, updating the contracts and negotiating the commercial terms according to its validity to avoid any business risk and to be ahead in the negation process.

6. Strategic planning in capturing, highlighting and prioritising the big saving projects .

7. Work closely with the Logistics team on Cost structure of the Warehouse based on its utilization and determining the ordering time and space needed for supporting the business needs.

8. Enhance the reporting process by working very closely with the finance team on capturing all the Logistics activities for each country.

9. Maximize the usage of the Procurement systems by up-loading all the contracts and the savings projects on Dominos and ISIS respectively.

10. Enhance the payment process for the Logistics Service providers by working with the IT team on establishing a sustained agreed process on the ERP which will maintain the payment process and avoid any overdue payments to the suppliers.

11. Get the Best Practice activities from the Region & the Globe and roll it out within the countries in the cluster.

12. Own and create Project Networks , from the idea phase of the project till signing the contract off and having the project live on the ground.

Purpose of the Role (Global Logistics Transformation responsibilities)

The successful candidate will work in support of development and implementation of Transformation Projects for Global Logistics Procurement to bring its strategy to life.

Transformation Projects will be a breakthrough approach to procuring logistics and drive step change in value delivery to the business on a total spend of 4.5 Billion Euro.

Support the Logistics Procurement Transformation Project Manager in
Identifying and driving transformation projects
Implement pilot and cascade implementation to clusters for global roll out
Oversee in cluster transformation project execution after successful pilot implementation
Work with partners and external organization to identify potential for logistics collaboration to optimize logistics costs and environmental footprint.
Lead Unilever’s entry into E-Commerce market by providing optimal logistics distribution models
Implement models which results in signifcant cash release for the business.
